Car Shopping

My 93 Cavalier still runs, is pretty good on gas, and still looks half decent if you look past the rust but that car has now become a commuter car for Justin out to the mine instead of his pathfinder which is nice for hauling stuff and fitting three hockey bags in it but not so good on gas. And in about a month or so I'll be driving all over the place for subbing and I need a good commuter car. We have been car shopping all summer, disagreeing on the style of car we both like. I fell in love with the 5 door cars like the caliber and the matrix but Justin was not a fan. I really liked the controls on the steering wheel in the caliber and the cooler in the glove box!!!! But they are cheep and overpopulating our city FAST!! We had a list of possible cars: Jetta, Malibu, Accura all of which would be great cars but we both were not in love with them.
My job for the summer is driving cars and lately I got behind the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra and really loved it. It had heated seats (sweet), volume and station controls on the steering wheel! (AWESOME), lots of storage compartments (YES) and just drove good.


So after the last time we went to a dealership to test drive a car, I really didn't want to go back. The salesman was rude, pushy and well RUDE! I wanted the leave as soon as we sat down with him. But this time was great, Glenn was the best cars salesman I have ever met. Just answered our questions straight up, was not pushy or rude, he was actually funny. So we took the Elantra for a spin and Justin really liked it too.

"Lots of power for a little car" he said smiling as he punched it on the highway.

We sat down with Glen when we got back and told him what we were looking for in one if it came in to give us a call. So hopefully in the next month we will be driving a new car!!

My study break today turned into a mini shopping spree for summer clothes. I was in the process of putting away my winter clothes to make room for my summer clothes the other night when I made a bigger pile of clothes to go to the Salvation Army then went into my closet. Although it's not quite warm enough for me yet to be pulling out the shorts and skirts my debit card thought I could use some new summer things. I still had a gift card from Old Navy from last summer that I had not used yet so I took my shopping adventure there.


I walked in and was hit by the huge amount of bathing suits. I would also like a new bathing suit to add to my collection of 5 I already own. I skimmed the bathing suit section finding a purple 2 piece which I regret that I did not buy. And whoever said that one piece bathing suits were lame or for "swimmers" was dearly mistaken the one piece bathing suits showed more skin then the 2 piece bathing suits!


I roamed the store in search of jean shorts, a skirt and possibly a top. I went to the change room with 15+ items. Trying each item on and spinning in front of the mirror, I honestly could just go try on clothes all day and not buy a thing! After my mini fashion show for myself I left the change room with a pair of jean shorts, a jean skirt and 2 tops.




I was about to head to the till when I saw the shoes! How could I have missed the shoes before. I tried on a pair of red wedges and fell in love. Yes I have 3 pairs of red shoes but not red wedges. (Just don't tell Justin!)
I'm going to "break in" my new shoes around the house! and get back to studying.

Grocery shopping 8 pm on a Saturday night----oh the lifestyle of a 21 year old! ha ha
Justin and I like to plan our suppers a week in advance because of our busy lifestyle and tomorrow is Easter Sunday filled with church and more family gatherings so we decided to go grocery shopping tonight. Flying through the grocery store getting everything on our list in the shortest time possible! Justin hates that I tie the bags we put our veggies and fruit in and he uses twist ties. We both went searching for different things to get done faster and always bring things to the cart that were not on the list. I think Saturday night is the best grocery shopping time. There were not many people in the store and no lines at the tills. Our Sunday after church shopping is pretty busy and the lines are always long.
I hated grocery shopping as a kid. I felt like I was being dragged around the store by my mom and she never let me buy all the yummy stuff. Now as an "adult" I find myself buying the stuff that is good for you anyways. Funny how that works! Ice cream always ends up in the cart but I can't live without it!
I toast Saturday night grocery shopping---it keeps us out of trouble.
